Check out our summer 2023 programming for Climate Café!
Never attended a Climate Café meal? You’re in for a treat! The experience begins with a mindful eating exercise to prepare those present to share a meal. And not just any meal — this one is locally-sourced, seasonal, and regenerative. These are tasty, nutritious meals that give back to the planet.
Climate Café is a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to changing the world by changing our relationship with food production and the way we eat.
If this sounds good to you, why not try volunteering at one of our upcoming events? Many of these events are kid-friendly, hands-in-the-dirt opportunities to teach children of all ages about sustainable, healthy eating.
Here are some ways to volunteer this summer
Aug. 5: 12 PM – Climate Café pop up at Cedar Hills UCC in SW Portland — Hosted by the youth of the church, who will have help plant, harvest, and prepare the food for the meal.
Aug. 13 9 AM – 1 PM – Help table at the Hillsdale Farmers Market for the Climate Café.
Sep. 23: 12 PM – The first Climate Café’s Kid’s Kitchen pop up — FEATURING a meal and program fully planned, planted, and prepped by youth and families of local Oregon City churches.
